Baltic Data Center, a leader in the management of data centres and information systems in the Baltic States, received the award of the best regional data centre operator in Central and Eastern Europe. The company belonging to TEO Group received high evaluations at the awards ceremony held during the international conference Data Centres Europe.

For the prestigious and respected awards in this sector, companies from over 30 different countries were nominated in each of 10 categories.  Baltic Data Center competed with 15 other companies for the name of the best regional data centre and was selected along with two other finalists in the category - companies from Greece, Luxembourg and Lithuania.

Two modern data centres of Baltic Data Center, one of which is an underground data centre protected against electromagnetic radiation, the only of this kind in Eastern Europe, were nominated for the awards.

According to Saulius Markūnas, Director of Baltic Data Center, the nomination is an excellent evaluation of continuous introduction of novelties and improvement of service quality by the company. Last year, Baltic Data Center was recognised as one of the best IT service providers in Europe at the same awards.

The awards ceremony has been held for five consecutive years by now during the conference Data Centres Europe organised by telecommunications and IT consulting company BroadGroup.  At the conference, trends of data centres and information systems management services, urgent issues of energy and other resources needed for provision of services are discussed.

At the event held in London, companies were awarded in the following categories: Best Managed Services Data Centre, Best pan-European Service Provider, Best Regional European Data Centre, Best Data Centre Environmental Policy, Best New Entrant into Data Centre Market, Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Data Centre Sector and others.
